Brazos Valley qualifiers: Max Miller, A&M Consolidated

Miller shot rounds of 75 and 74 at the Region II tournament at Waco’s par-72, 7,000-yard Cottonwood Creek. He finished fourth in the medalist race, four shots off the pace of Logan Davis from Humble Atascocita.

Miller won the Lufkin Panther Invitational in December, shooting a 2-under final round to come from four strokes down to win. He also won Montgomery’s inaugural Donnie Massengale Invitational in February. Miller led wire-to-wire after opening with an even-par 71. He also finished in the top 5 at the Aggie Cup Invitational in January and had a runner-up finish at the Huntsville Hornet Invitational in October.

Miller has had a strong junior golf career. In the summer of 2012, he won the George Hannon Invitational, and last summer he won the Texas State Boys Championship, both hosted by the Texas Legends Junior Tour. Miller won the Texas Oklahoma Junior Championship at the age of 13, and has had multiple top-5 finishes on the American Junior Golf Association circuit.
