A&M Consolidated claims second at Ellison Duals

KILLEEN — The A&M Consolidated wrestling team took second place at the Ellison Duals tournament on Saturday, going 4-1 with wins over Copperas Cove (60-15), Ellison (37-29), Harker Heights (54-17) and Killeen (66-6). The Tigers’ lone loss was to Shoemaker, 39-36.

Noah Alford went 5-0 with four pins in the 145-pound division to lead Consol. Harley Coons (152), Sam Beal (160) and Antonio Valadez (195) went 5-0 with three pins. JR Matlock (182), Waylon Roosma (170) and Bryson Foust (220) went 4-1 while Ryan Jones (132) went 3-2.

Jordan Smith (285), Dylan Hudspeth (138) and Trey Cooks (126) all had two wins apiece.

The Lady Tigers competed at Ellison on Friday with Zamaia Marshall winning the 148-pound division. Jennifer Bulux-Sotelo (110) and Nadia Vejar (138) both placed second. Leonard White led the JV team with a second-place finish at 160 while Jeremy Gonzales (152) and Sam Orihuela (170) placed third.

Consol will compete in the Doc Hes Classic at Bryan on Saturday
