Mary Hardin-Baylor’s Charis Brantley-Jenkins, who graduated from A&M Consolidated, received the American Southwest Conference’s scholar-athlete medal of honor for the 2016-17 season.
Brantley-Jenkins was a four-year letterman for the MHB women’s soccer program, earning All-America honors in 2016. She was a three-time American Southwest Conference all-academic selection and twice was on the American Southwest Conference distinguished scholar-athlete team. Brantley-Jenkins, an exercise science major, also was a 2017 Mary Hardin-Baylor exercise and sport science department major of the year honoree.
The American Southwest Conference medal of honor is given to a male and female at each member school’s graduating class who had the most outstanding career in academics, athletics and leadership. And the scholar-athlete medal of honor is the highest given to a student in the American Southwest Conference.
