The purpose of the A&M Consolidated Student Athletic Training Program is to assist the licensed and certified staff Athletic Trainers in providing care for all Tiger student-athletes.
The Student Athletic Training Program is unique in that it allows students to gain hands-on medical experience working in an allied healthcare profession. This program is truly unlike any other program at AMCHS and would benefit any student interested in a career in the medical field.
The Athletic Training staff is committed to instilling leadership qualities, promoting work ethic and responsibility, and providing educational opportunities to our students.
In order to become a student athletic trainer, the prospective student must first complete the online application. The top applicants will be contacted to schedule an informal interview with the Athletic Training staff. Upon completion of the interview process, the student may then be offered the opportunity to complete a multi-week probationary (tryout) period. During this time the student will observe and be a part of the day to day operations of a student athletic trainer. At the conclusion of the probationary period the student will again meet with the staff Athletic Trainers to determine whether or not they are a good fit for the student athletic training program.
